Walk-in visits to CLP Pulse are welcome. You can explore CLP Pulse at your own pace with a self-guided adventure, or join a guided tour to discover the treasures now held in this historic building.

To explore ElectriCity

In a 40-minute tour packed with stories, visitors can explore the way in which electricity – a relative novelty a century ago – has powered Hong Kong’s growth and brought many transformational changes to people’s lives. Visitors can also learn about a power company’s meticulous planning aimed at solving the energy trilemma, and enjoy different interactive, immersive activities that guide them towards the lifestyles of a greener future.

Want to understand the link between the Kadoorie businesses and Hong Kong’s post-war development, and how intangible cultural heritage connects people? Check out Our Home ∙ Our History and Traces of Human Touch.

On display at Our Home ∙ Our History are rare photographs, films and artefacts and a selection of oral history video highlights of people from all walks of life. Next door at Traces of Human Touch, you’ll find Hong Kong's intangible cultural heritage through precious traditional Chinese crafts.

A free docent guided tour last for an hour is available on every Wednesday at 3pm. Interested parties please assemble outside 1/F Cafe five minutes before the tour. No advance booking is required. For enquiries, please send email to [email protected]

 

Grade 1 Historic Building

To appreciate the Grade 1 Historic Building

Join our docent guided tour to admire the architectural features and character defining elements of the clock tower every Saturday at 3:30pm. Led by volunteer docents, the tour lasts for 45 minutes and is free of charge. No advance booking is needed. Meet us at G/F lobby five minutes prior to the start of tour. At CLP Pulse, we organise a range of events and activities to engage with people of different ages and interests, promoting awareness of heritage preservation, new energy trends, and smart ways to embrace green lifestyles. We believe that through the exchange of ideas and experiences, we can build a more sustainable world for generations to come. 

Visitor Guidelines​

  • CLP Pulse is part of Hong Kong’s heritage. Kindly respect and preserve its historical items and safeguard its heritage features from damage.
  • Please help maintain a quiet and pleasant environment, do not make excessive noise and avoid causing disturbance to other visitors.
  • Please help us keep CLP Pulse clean and tidy. Do not eat or drink inside designated areas of the museum.
  • No smoking inside the CLP Pulse.
  • To ensure a pleasant visit for everyone, please do not use flash photography or tripods.
  • Please do not write on, mark, soil, or damage any exhibit, installation, wall or facility in the museum.
  • Vistors and staff from external organisations are not allowed to arrange guided tour in the museum without authorisation.
  • To ensure safety and to be considerate to other visitors, please do not run, play, sit on the floor and block the corridors inside the museum.
  • Please do not bring the following items into the museum:
    • Weapons or dangerous materials
    • Alcoholic beverages
    • Wheeled luggage
    • Skateboards and scooters
  • To protect the architecture of CLP Clock Tower and to ensure the safety of the visitors, crowd management measures will be implemented if the number of visitors exceeds the maximum capacity of the exhibition area which is set at 150 persons.  
  • The staff of CLP Pulse reserves the right to request the departure of any person or group who cause disturbance to other visitors or daily operation of the museum.
  • Take good care of your belongings. 
  • Pets are not allowed, except for service dogs. 
  • In accordance with the operational needs and condition inside the museum, CLP Pulse reserves the right to adjust its opening hours and dates.

Extreme Weather Special Arrangements

Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.8 or above

  • CLP Pulse will be closed once the Hong Kong Observatory announced the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 is about to hoist.​
  • CLP Pulse will be closed when the tropical cyclone warning signal No.8 or above is in force.
  • If the signal is lowered or cancelled at or before 12 noon, CLP Pulse will be re-opened after 3 hours. However, all pre-booked guided tours and activities will be cancelled on that day.
  • If the signal remains in force at or after 12 noon, CLP Pulse will remain closed for the day.

Black Rainstorm Warning Signal

  • When a black rainstorm warning signal is issued during CLP Pulse’s opening hours, it will remain open until closing time. Under a safe condition, ongoing guided tours and indoor activities will continue.
  • If the black rainstorm warning signal is issued before opening hour, CLP Pulse will be closed while the warning is in force.
  • If the signal is lowered or cancelled at or before 12 noon, CLP Pulse will be re-opened after 3 hours. However, all pre-booked guided tours and activities will be cancelled on that day.
  • If the signal remains in force at or after 12 noon, CLP Pulse will remain closed for the day.
